We have had several exchange students ( they are all Bhuddist or Shinto), that have stayed with us over the years, and we send packages at different times during the year. We always send Easter baskets with various candies, chocolate bunnies, and other thing too that are associated with the holiday. But, I got a letter this year from one of the students, and she wanted to know what the significance of the bunnies in relation to Easter. For the life of me, I don’t know what it is. Anybody out there know what it is, or how it started?

I am a sophmore at one of the best highschools in the country. I am in all honors classes & have all a’s except 1 or 2 b’s a semester. Last semester my GPA was 3.6 unweighted & 3.9 weighted. This semester mine should be higher. I started a make-a-wish club at my school and have almost granted a child a wish! I am also a cheerleader for my school year round. I am in a international thialand club were I am a student ambassador to foreign exchange students. I got back my psats and without studying i did pretty good. Although I dont remember my exact scores. Is Duke to hard for me to get into? If so, what can i do to improve my chances?

Hi. We’ll be hosting a student from Brazil in the US for a year. She’ll be arriving in a few weeks to spend the summer here. I know she enjoys parties and barbecues. I’d like to invite our friends, some neighbors, and a few teens that I know, about 30 people in all.
Should I mix some brazilian recipes in with american food? Any good ideas or recipes for me? I don’t just want to order a bunch of pizzas or something.
I’m a decent cook, but have never thrown a party this large. It would be in the evening, so the food would need to be heavy enough for people to make a dinner.
Thanks so much!!
