Resolved Question: How do I get my British boyfriend in the United States permanently?

Apr 30, 2008 @ 07:21 pm by

Three years ago I went to England with my family and met a really nice guy. We spent a whole week together and fell in love. When it was time for me to come back to the states, we exchanged numbers and screen names and have stayed in touch. He wants to immigrate (emigrate?) to the USA now, but we’re not sure how to go about it. Someone told us that he could just get on a plane and come to the USA and have an automatic visitors visa, and once he was here, THEN he could get a work visa/student visa/fiance visa or whatever. However, we’re confused because some stuff says he has to go to the London consulate and do an interview and be given a visa THERE while he’s still in England. We’re mostly interested in the work visa because my stepdad works construction and could give my Brit a job.

Long story short, we are just really confused about how to get him here and not have to send him back every 90 days.

What should we do to get him here permanently? Thank you!
I understand concern of him using me for a visa but since we’re not getting married to obtain a visa, that’s obviously not the case.

Resolved Question: Requirements to become a french teacher?

Apr 30, 2008 @ 05:01 pm by

I’m interested in becoming a french teacher after high school and I was wondering what some of the requirements are other than a bachelors. Would I have to be a foreign exchange student in high school in order to be a french teacher after college or is just the studying abroad in college enough? Both of the french teachers i have had were either a foreign exhange student and spent a year in france or spent a summer in france during high school. The most i can do is a 10 day tour in france during my high school stay but is it necessary to be a forign exchange student to be professionally considered?

Resolved Question: [president election 2008] How do people learn about election?

Apr 30, 2008 @ 01:27 pm by

I’m a new exchange student to the U.S, and interested in president election 2008. However I have NO idea about USA’s politics…

I want to know how many candidates there are but can’t find the information.
I want to learn about each candidates’ plan BESIDES TV.

Basically, need a help for HOW to learn.
Any books?
Any good website?
How did you learn?

Voting Question: i want to go to france for exchange student?

Apr 30, 2008 @ 01:08 pm by

i’m in 9th grade rightnow, so i’m interest to doing this, but should i go in my 10th grade ,or 11, or 12?? because 11th grade is a important year, because all the college thing, but 10th, i’m afraid is not enough time for me to fill the application everything, so i’m thinking 12th grade.
ok, and i feel so embarrass to be in a family that i don’t know, is like, if i want to drink a glass of milk, i need to ask them first, i’m afraid i ‘ll feel like a stranger in the host family (this is big thing that make me don’t want to go,)
and what i need to pay when i’m in the family, ??
and in those exchange program like rotary, and EF, do you have to be an american in order to be an exchange student??
also, which exchange program is better,
rotary club or EF????
