Student Exchange Programs

First of all, let me say that COLLEGE APPLICATIONS ARE NOT MY ONLY REASON FOR WANTING TO GO.

I’ve always wanted to be a foreign exchange student when I was too young to know about college. I wanted to do the full academic year at first, but my parents will only let me do the summer exchange, so I’m going to do that. I also don’t think it would hurt to add to my resume.

I am really leaning toward the AFS Summer Community Service Program. Although I would not be going to school, I would be volunteering in local communities in another country. Plus I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the world

Would this look good on a college application, or would they just see this as a tourist trip?

okay i am planning to study in japan when im older. so i would like some links and information on some student exchange programs ect! i would like to study there for a fair amount of time but be in contact with english speakers as well. i am from the united kingdom aswell may i note. thank you very much hope i will have some great answers!

I would really like to go to Brazil with some kind of association like the Rotary Club. But the Rotary Club doesn’t have students over 17 do exchanges. Do you know any other organization I can be a part of that does exchanges?

At school we are doing a student stock exchange project and our product is pretzels (new york style), does anyone have a name suggestion? Our theme might be New York City, so if it can tie into that it’d be great!
