Student Exchange Programs

Im 21 years old. exotic dancer/college student. I met this 22 year old army sergeant at my place of employment this week. He approached me in the club and wanted me to dance for him. He spent alot of money on me that night. Im a very smart and attractive & he is too. He has alot of qualities I want and need in a man. He seemed so geniune and sweet. He told me he had just got back from Iraq and he was visiting his friends & family. His friends brought him to the club. He says he doesnt have a girl or wife or kids. We exchanged numbers & he said he wanted to keep in contact. He doesnt call me, he only texts me. When I call he always seems to be busy. I know he is here visiting so I try not to take it personal. He took me out to eat one day after I got off work & he kissed me. I feel butterflies when Im around him. am I overreacting ? is he interested or not? what should I do? …..play hard to get?
He says he wants me to come visit him too.

We were a host family … what was not stolen from us in property was stolen from us emotionally … we want to here from others with stories about this.

I am planning on going to College/University in Japan. I am wondering what i am gonna need like what visa, im going there to study and eventually live there, should i just participate in a foreign exchange program but since i plan on living there i dont think that would be necessary, would a student visa work or a permanent residence? Also what would be the restrictions of the visa’s. also since my japanese literacy skills would be bad although i am studying a bit right now to make going there easier a bit, will japanese unviersities accept me even if i cannot really speak nor understand the language? is there special schools that accept foreigners? I would appreciate if you guys can help me with this, its been a life long dream for me to go to Japan, thank you.

So, during college I’d like to do a foreign exchange program in England, any ideas on how I’d go about applying for a visa? Thanks!

I’m considering being a foreign exchange student, most likely in Toulouse France, if I can, next school year. If I did do that, how much money would you say I would need to bring with me? Also, what is it like, if you know? Thank you so much!

Hi! Me and this girl are both at uni. Im in UK, she’s a US exchange student.

She came to our dance class ( I was teaching!! ) and gave us her email. But she never turned up again. So I emailed her asking her when shes coming next and Id like to see her. She replied that shes not coming back next term. She was travelling europe and suggested coffee when she gets back and said she looked forward hearding from me.

We added facebook and agreed to meet. But her flight back to UK was cancelled and she couldnt get back in time. She said it was a shame as she was looking forward to it as I was already gone home for hols. I said that Id take a train to see her. Unfortunately she got back the night before her morning flight from europe and so she msged me asking me to add her to skype so we can talk.

But I dont have a webcam at home so I said I might have to wait till the new year when I go back to uni to talk. A week after she got back she msged me yesterday that shes home and anytime in the next few days we can chat if I wanted to on skype. I said that Im going back to uni next week as I have webcam there. Im going back on Monday and suggested tue or wed. asked her to pick a time.

Im not sure about starting a long distance thing. Will it work? Shes not coming back to the UK.

Does this mean she’s def interested? I havent heard from her yet. When will she reply? Help its killing me!

Hey, I’m going to put a spring break trip with a bunch of my friends. I was going over a lot of my options, and I started to become really interested in Puerto Rico as a destination. Most everyone seems set on Mexico, but I’m not so sure about how that would compare to going to Puerto Rico. When I went to Mexico spring break of my senior year, I generally wasn’t that impressed. It was an all-expenses paid trip that was fairly expensive around $1300, plus the annoyance of having to get a passport and visa.
The reasons I feel it might be better is:

1. Since P.R. uses dollars I won’t have to worry about exchange rates and the such, so I think instead of doing the all expenses paid crap (which forces you to eat the hotels crappy food and only drink at their bar) we could eat where we want and drink wherever we feel like it. (one thing in Mexico was everybody wished they could just get a 6 pack or handle of liquor for the hotel room instead of constantly going back to the bar).

2. No visas and what not.

3. they use U.S. dollars,

Has anyone ever gone to Puerto Rico for College spring break? Was it a lot of fun? Do you feel like there is plenty of college students and generally has clubs and such that are comparable to someplace like cancun or puerto vallatra? What hotel did you stay at and would you recommend it?

So my girlfriend and i have been going out for 2 months. we have broken up once already but we got back together shortly. 2 days ago she was telling me about this exchange student who liked her. He hits on her all the time and he makes sexual suggestions to her all the time. This kid has a reputation for getting in girls pants and doing everything he can to get there. Earlier this year he got in alot of trouble because he tried to rape a girl.

Yesterday, she told me she was hanging out with him. She didnt text me back for 4 hours and then she said sorry i was busy… and i said what does that mean. She replied Excuse me? And i asked her if they had done anything. She got really really mad. we got in a huge fight. I told her that i trusted her but not the guy and that i know she wouldnt do anything like that but he will stop at nothing to get it. She broke up with me but we are still fighting and she said she wants to give me another chance to but is afraid.

Is this a good reason for her to break up with me? and is it a good sign that she still is fighting with me? I really really like this girl and she knows it. I just dont understand what was wrong with worrying about her.
