is it possible to be a foreign exchange student from uk to america and stay in america after wards? if so how do you firstly go about finding an exchange and secondly how do you organise it or what details are needed ETC?

We have AT&T’s U-Verse, and you are only allowed 3 tv’s that are connected to the main one, so my dad, who i may add is a dick, decided to give our foreign exchange student my cable without notifying me AND he still pays for it out of my Christmas and birthday money. Before we got into a fight about it, he was talking about using something else and putting it downstairs for me? I can’t remember what it’s called but I guess it does the same thing except it’s not through AT&T, does anyone know what i’m talking about? Or do any of you have your own opinion on ways I could get cable in my bedroom without running it through another DVR for U-Verse? Thanks!

I want to try to make this as little biased as i can. because i want just honest opinions. I know its kind of long but i really need advice, please.
My brother plays tennis and has many many friends. He also takes more classes IN SCHOOL. I have very few friends, i go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, and i go to school (not so much, only about 4 hours per day, and i do online college courses.
At home I am expected to clean up (usually with my mom) everyday, after every meal. and i have to also set the table. Cleaning does not bother me. I am not trying to complain about the cleaning. I am just bothered because my brother (and dad, but…) always gets up from the table when he is done eating and goes on the computer. He never even brings his plate into the kitchen.
I will say that sometimes he is asked to clean the kitchen. (maybe 1ce every 2 weeks) and even then i always help, and usually end up doing more.
We trade off weeks to do the dishwasher. When its my week it is always done. when its his week either i or my mom does it.
everyone leaves all of there dishes on the counter rather than outting them in the dishwasher. then the kitchen stinks (its verrrrry small)
Last week i went up to have breakfast (sunday family breakfast) But i felt really sick. I couldn’t eat and i asked to go lay down. they said that was fine and i laid in my bed for 20mins. i almost fell back to sleep, then my dad came in my room and said “We dont have time to clean up from breakfast, can you clean up breakfast and the kitchen now and you can lay down after”.
there have been several incidents like that in the last 6 months.
today really set me off, because i made breakfast, set the table, made coffee, and everyone ate then got up from the table (ALL 3 of them) and went to the TV to watch tennis. they sat on the couch - wich faces almost directly at the table, as cleaning all the stuff. then i realized that i shouldnt, so i only cleaned all of my things. and a couple other things (like perishables). A couple hours later i came upstairs to ask my mom a question and she said “we dont have time, i have to go out now, can you clean the kitchen?” I just was so shocked. they had time to watch tennis and TV all morning, but not enough time but put the orange juice in the fridge?!?! BUT i can say, today he really wasnt even there anymore when i was asked to clean to kitchen. but still…
Anyways- I justify it by saying that my brother has more to do and maybe they feel like since he is playing tennis then he shouldnt have to do so much around the house…?
To put another little spin on things- i am an exchange student. (so the brother and mother i have been speaking of are really host brother and host mother). I dont know what to do, because its sometimes hard to communicate serious things with them, and its not like my real family. I feel like i cant criticize their parenting and tell them “Flo doesnt have to do anything, and i always have to clean” I dont want them to think i dont want to clean. because thats really not it. just the way its handled i feel taken advantage of.
any advice?
