Student Exchange Programs

I’m currently an exchange student (for a semester). I had a great boyfriend and he knew I was leaving for a semester since the begging of our relationship that lasted about nine months (officially as boyfriend/girlfriend, but a lot more unofficially).

I loved him but I wasn’t sure how much. I told him that it wouldn’t work if I went away so we had to break up when I left but that we could talk for that time and maybe come back together when I came back.

After I came to the new university we would talk and he would get mad for nothing… like he was resentful even when he said it would be ok. After some time I told him that I loved him more than I though and I was sorry I left him, but he would still be very mad at me. To the point we couldn’t talk because he would be mean.

After some time he called me to tell me he was going out with a girl who told him he was beautiful and stuff.

I know I should had demonstrated him I loved him more but really I always try to make him smile and feel good. I sent him some letters to tell him that he had been very important to me and that for that I was grateful. Now we would text just once in while.

I’m going back in for spring break and then to stay there. Do you think I should try to speak to him? Do you think he really loved me? Do you think I will find somebody great again (he really made me happy and did anything for me when we were together)?

…I really tried to make things better but now I think that only time (without contacting him) will give us time to think and figure this out…
