Student Exchange Programs

I go to a public high school here in America. I’m a straight A student, my teachers all have very good things to say about me, and I have been given many opportunities to do foreign exchange through a program. I, now a sophomore, want to do foreign exchange, but not through the program that sends me annual pamphlets, because they have a set program. I just want to know if there’s a way i can do foreign exchange to England next year. Has anyone done this or know how to do it? I want to be able to have some information prepared before i go to my school counselor. Help please.
