Student Exchange Programs

I dont know what to do ,i need major help and everyones opinions, Well im a sophmore know and i want my last upperclassmen years woth it like i want to go to an elite school for one and be a international student or student exchange for the other ( i dont know if there the same or not)

- so i planned for junior year the be at a elite boarding school and im almost done applying and need to take the ssat and pay for the finicial aid and crap but even if everything i done i will be considerd as a late applicant. is it worth it ? to pay 50$ for an unsure thing , not even sure they will look at my application? Or should i do the international student thing first and then come back do the elite schools during senior year and take the SAT then, becuase i think with the combinations of these 2 it will give me more experiance and a chance to get into a ivy leauge school
