Open Question: If you go into nursing do you have to let others practice shots on YOU?

I am considering going into nursing. The only problem is I have a bit of a shot phobia. I already know that I am fine giving shots to others, or withdrawing blood from others, but I flinch and generally freak out when people try to give shots to me. IE my arm instinctively moves out of the way, and because it’s an unconscious move on my part, it’s very hard to control.

My aunt and uncle said that in nursing school you have to practice giving shots, and the only way to do this is to let another student practice on you, in exchange? is this true?
obviously I don’t have a huge “OMG” reaction. I have always managed to get my shots. and needles in general don’t bother me, even if they are in someone’s skin. just shots.
