Student Exchange Programs

I’m in England for 1 year as an exchange student. I’m 16 years old. I’m in a bit of a dilemma, because I dont know whether or not I want to have my parents come and visit me.. If they should come, I would have them come in Dec/Jan/Feb. In that case, I think Christmas will be easier for me, since I wouldnt miss them knowing I would see them soon. And at that time, I will probably be having friends and a routine, so when I said goodbye, It wouldn’t be so hard, since I would be starting in school again soon..
Do you have any advice? Or heard about some who did it?
