Student Exchange Programs

Okay so he’s new to class this is his second week. Hes extremely quiet -.- and the girl in class that makes every one talk Im a social butterfly I’m the girl in class every one knows but. I feel bad cuz this kid seems nice but he never talks he speaks english and I try to get him to talk but he’ll say 2 words then stop talking the rest of class. How can I make him feel comfortable and welcomed??
