Open Question: Walking in Korea as a interracial couple?

Feb 07, 2012 @ 10:22 pm by

I’m going to Korea less than two weeks to see my Korean boyfriend. We met as he was an exchange student in America and have been dating for almost a year. What I am worried about is people looking at us as we are walking together in Korea. Especially if we are holding hands. If we are doing that, it will automatically make Koreans look at us. We have experience Americans looking at us very surprised as we walked together in America. Some are even happy we are showing the world that it is possible for a Korean man and a African American woman to date. Anyways, please tell me what I may experience in Korea walking with my boyfriend holding hands. I’m 20 years old African American woman and he is 25 American age and Korean man. I just want to know what to expect and what not to do with him. I want Koreans to feel comfortable to see us as a interracial couple. Thank you!!
