I am applying for an exchange program at a university in the UK. It would be nice if you can check my motivation letter and give some comments on it.

Dear Sir or Madam,

With this letter, I express my interest to apply for admission to study at University of XXX as an exchange student for the autumn semester 2012-2013.

Currently, I am a second year International Bachelor student of Economics and Business at University of YYY and I am expecting to receive my undergraduate diploma in summer 2013. I obtained an average of 7.6 in my first year and as my interest in learning had grown, I took some extra 3rd year courses during my 2nd year, including a Minor in Behavioral Finance and a major course of Finance 2. Apart from studying, I am also active off campus in ABC Student Association where I serve as secretary and treasurer. My interests are very broad and lie mainly in the fields on financial economics, portfolio analysis and risk management. My main goal in life is too seek out opportunities to further improve and test my skills. I also would like to attain a Master degree and a CFA in order to pursue my dream of becoming securities analyst.

Studying abroad for a couple of months during my bachelor program has always been one of my wishes. I was very delighted to find the opportunity to spend the autumn semester at University of XXX. I have decided to apply for this exchange program because I believe that it would strongly enrich my knowledge and multinational experience. In addition, I also think that studying and living abroad will be a great opportunity to get in touch with another culture and educational system.

University of XXX has always been my preferred destination for several reasons. Firstly, the university is known for its outstanding educational system and international reputation. Secondly, I am impressed by the wide range of courses and disciplines offered. I am particularly attracted by the various courses related to Asset Pricing and Portfolio Analysis from both the Economics Department and the Business School. I am convinced that these courses will equip me with solid knowledge in Finance that would help me in pursuing my future career. Last but not least, attending a semester in UK will also help me develop my language skills.

Thank you for considering my application and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely.
